Teresa Shehan
Hello, my name is Teresa Shehan and I am excited to be the STEAM Extensions teacher. I have been involved in education for over 3 decades. I have taught every age of student from toddlers through high school across various settings including private, public, charter, and home school. I have lived and taught in most of North Carolina's major cities and many of it's small towns and even in Alabama. I attended Appalachian State University and Troy State at Dothan. I majored in Special Needs and Art Education with a minor in Psychology. My teaching background is primarily in special education to which I have added preschool, science, and art. My most recent positions have been as a traveling STEM teacher for four years and as a science camp instructor this past summer. I have lived in the North Charlotte/ Huntersville area for a decade with my husband and youngest daughter who is a college student. My older daughter majored in social work and recently moved out of state to experience adult life. Previously, we lived in the Asheville area before relocating to Charlotte 13 years ago. We still have family in WNC. I am looking forward to combining all of my years of experience into making a fun and impactful program for the students along with the other staff at Community Charter School.
