I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Middle Grades Education from Appalachian State University in the 1990s. My background with teaching is varied! My 30 year career started at a high school in Fort Mill, SC., continued in Burke County, NC and concluded teaching middle school in Catawba County. Although most of that time was spent in math classes, I have taught all core classes. I am excited to join the staff at Community Charter! My husband, Ryan Gettys, teaches art here. We have two grown children, one grandson, two dogs and cats, and some chickens! When I am not outdoors hiking, gardening, or playing tennis, I can be found reading a book!
