I grew up in a family of teachers which instilled in me a great fondness for education and young children. I earned a B.A. in English from the University of North Georgia and Early Childhood education certification from Augusta University. My work experience as a teacher includes public, private and charter schools, as well as homeschooling, for over 30 years. Tutoring students in reading is my favorite part of being a teaching assistant. This is my fifth year at Community Charter School, and I am excited to serve my local community in education. One of my favorite quotes is, "Love your neighbor as yourself", and I believe that children who are loved learn more. When I'm at home in Stanley, you might find me with my husband enjoying our Icelandic chickens or catching up with one of our three children.
