Hello! I’m Dr. Jim Montague. Most recently, I served as Head of School at West Lake Preparatory Academy in Denver, NC. Before that, I spent five years as principal at Lakeside Charter Academy in Cornelius, NC. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on leading schools through strong, year-over-year growth and increasing enrollment, while expanding both technical and advanced academic programs. I’m passionate about maintaining high academic standards through a hands-on, engaging approach.

In addition to academic growth, I’ve worked to improve financial stability and oversee major facility upgrades in athletics, the arts, and academics.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Communications from the College of Charleston and my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Wingate University.

My life has been truly blessed with a loving wife who stands by my side and three amazing children we are proud to raise together. I’m beyond excited to join the Trailblazer family and can’t wait for all of the upcoming opportunities and endless possibilities ahead!
