Back Lot Arrival Reminder
The back lot arrival line currently looks different than the front. Please make sure to pull all the way up to the first staff member to allow for the most students to drop off at one time. We will be making adjustments to the back lot after the holidays, so be on the look out for more information in future newsletters.

2026-27 Facilities Update
We are well underway on plans for expansion. Through this process, we have heard from our community and want to make sure we are sharing accurate information in a timely manner.
Next school year, we will be proudly graduating our first Senior class. Many of these students have been with us since the opening of the school and have endured and persevered through the many transitions this school has faced in its growth. Due to the current timelines and possibilities, we will be housing all K-12 students at this campus next school year.
There are still many things to work through and more information will be coming out as we finalize and prepare for the upcoming school year.
We will be holding an in-person Parent Meeting on November 24th @ 6:00 to share this update and answer any current questions you have. Please RSVP for the meeting using the RSVP attached to this post.
Fall Makeup Pictures
Don’t forget, Fall makeup pictures will be held December 1 and will promptly begin at 8:00am.
There are no paper flyers required for makeups. After picture day, proofs will be sent to the school to distribute, then parents can go online with their child’s Personal Photo Key (previously Shoot Key) from the proof to order pictures.
Last Chance For Talent Show Signups
CCS will host our very first talent show on Friday, January 30th @ 6:00pm in the gym. Any and all families are welcome to attend. Scan the QR code to sign your child up to particpate in the show! The deadline to register is next week!

Parents—We Need Your Help!
As we continue to grow as a school community, we are exploring the idea of creating our very first CCS Booster Club to help support athletics, school events, and student activities.
We would love to know if we have any parents or guardians who:
1️⃣ Have experience being part of a Booster Club or helping create one, and/or
2️⃣ Would be interested in joining or even leading the organization and setup of our school’s first Booster Club.
If this is something you’d like to be involved in, please comment below or send a message or email hhoffman@cpcsnc.org. Your support and expertise would be incredibly valuable as we begin this exciting new step for our students!
Thank you for being such an amazing part of the CCS community!
Booster Club Requirements & Legalities (General Overview)
Booster Club Requirements & Legalities (General Overview)
Booster Clubs are independent, parent-run nonprofit support organizations, but they must still follow rules to protect the school, the volunteers, and the funds they handle. Below are the core requirements:
1. Establishing the Organization Legally
To be an official Booster Club, you generally must:
✔ Create Bylaws
Bylaws outline:
Purpose of the club
Officer roles (President, VP, Treasurer, Secretary)
Membership rules
How money is spent
Voting procedures
Meeting requirements
✔ Elect Officers
Most states require at least 3 officers (President, Secretary, Treasurer).
✔ Apply for an EIN (Federal Tax ID)
This is free and done online through the IRS.
You need this to open a bank account and file taxes.
✔ Decide on Tax Status (Most Choose 501(c)(3))
Not required everywhere, but strongly recommended because:
Donations become tax-deductible
Required for many grants
Helps transparency
If filing for 501(c)(3), the club must file paperwork with the IRS and pay a small fee.
2. Financial Requirements
✔ Maintain a Booster Club Bank Account
Must be separate from any personal accounts
Should require two signatures or dual-control online access
Treasurers should provide regular financial reports
✔ Follow Financial Rules
Most schools require:
A budget approved by members
Receipts for all expenses
No paying individuals directly without documentation
No personal benefit from Booster funds
✔ Annual Tax Filings
Even if a club makes no money, it must file an annual IRS return (Form 990-N, 990-EZ, or 990 depending on revenue).
3. Compliance With School Policies
Schools typically require Booster Clubs to:
✔ Get Approval for Fundraisers
Schools must approve:
Fundraiser dates
Types of fundraisers
Use of school facilities
Logos/branding
Student involvement
✔ Follow School Branding Rules
Any merchandise using the school name/logo must be approved.
✔ Maintain Open Communication With the School
Often includes:
Principal or AD present (or invited) at meetings
Sharing meeting minutes
Annual recap of projects and spending
Coordinating calendars with the school
4. Operational Requirements
✔ Open Meetings
Most bylaws require Booster meetings to be open to all parents.
✔ Recordkeeping
The club must keep:
Meeting minutes
Financial reports
Membership records
Receipts/invoices
Bylaw updates
✔ Insurance
Some schools require Booster Clubs to carry liability insurance for events involving:
Concessions
Vendors
Large crowds
Physical activity
Insurance protects both the club and the school.
5. Limitations (Important!)
Booster Clubs cannot:
Directly control school staff
Influence coaching decisions
Dictate school policy
Pay staff “under the table”
Use funds for personal benefit
Exclude parents from membership (must be open to all)
They are support organizations, not governing bodies.
