Core Virtues, Essentials

I am so excited to join the Community Charter family and have the opportunity to meet and learn from the students, families, and staff who make this school community so special! I was born in Florida and have moved around quite a bit, but North Carolina has been home since 2017. My passion for working with children and building strong communities started with my undergraduate studies at Smith College, where I focused on psychology and child development. I also earned a paralegal certification from Boston University and most recently completed my master's degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education. Before joining Community Charter, I worked as a Student Services Coordinator, where I had the opportunity to support students, strengthen school culture, and help create meaningful experiences centered around character, belonging, and growth. I am especially excited to continue building on the strong foundation of Community's Core Virtues program and help students practice the values that shape who they are both inside and outside of the classroom. Outside of the school, I love being active and have always enjoyed sports. I was a part of my college Swim and Dive team and have played a little bit of everything growing up. I have also enjoyed coaching volleyball and soccer. Whether it is through sports, classrooms, or everyday moments, I love seeing kids grow in confidence, teamwork, kindness, and leadership. I truly believe character education has the power to shape not only great students, but great people. I can't wait for an amazing year full of learning, connection, and celebrating the virtues that make our community strong!
