I am thrilled to be joining the 3rd grade team and the rest of the Community Charter family this year! I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Theatre Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2016, but I have been working with children and in education for over 10 years. I began working as a children's theatre camp counselor right after high school, and then became a substitute teacher for Gaston County. I have also worked as an EC teacher assistant/one-on-one support, and an office assistant for GCS. Most recently I have taught elementary music for 1 year, and 4th grade for the past three years in Cleveland County.
Aside from teaching, I have a passion for singing! I started singing in church when I was just 5 years old, and now enjoy getting to lead worship every Sunday. I have also had the opportunity to perform the National Anthem for several events at Charlotte Motor Speedway over the past 2 years, and love being able to honor the brave men and women who have served our country!
I live in Shelby, N.C. with my husband, our 2 sweet dogs, and a goofy cat. I love spending time with family and friends, golfing, kayaking, crafting, catching a baseball game or theatre performance, or reading a good book out in my hammock. I am excited to bring my love of learning, and love of children to this incredible team!
