Kimberly Canham

AIG Teacher

I earned my B.Ed in elementary education from UNC-Charlotte in December 2002.  I taught with Charlotte Mecklenburg School District, mainly in Equity Plus schools.  I then  moved to Carolina International Charter School in Concord for 13 years.  I finished Masters level courses at UNC Charlotte earning an advanced degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Gifted Education on August 13, 2013.  In August 2021, I became a member of the Community Public Charter School family, both as a staff member and a parent.

I live in Lincolnton with my husband of 21 years, our 6 year old son, Elijah, and 2 cats, Mia and Cosmo.  In my spare time I love to read and watch movies.  My favorite books are the Looking Glass Wars trilogy, Harry Potter series and The Inheritance Trilogy (which is no longer a trilogy).  I love fantasy creatures, especially dragons.
