Shelia Clippard
It is my privilege to serve Community Public Charter School on the School Board. I was educated in Gaston County, graduating in the first class of East Gaston High School in 1973. I graduated from UNCC with a BA in Human Development and Learning and then with a Masters Degree in Human Development and Learning, concentrating in the field of Mathematics and then adding my Academically Gifted License as I worked for Gaston County Schools. I later attended Gardner Webb University, earning my School Administrative License. During my tenure with Gaston County Schools I taught mathematics at Highland Junior High School and Stanley Junior High/Middle School. I was Assistant Principal at Mt. Holly Middle School and Holbrook Middle School and Principal at Kiser Elementary School. My last responsibility with Gaston County Schools I worked eleven years in the Central Office as Director of Testing and Accountability. After retirement in 2015, in 2016, I completed the spring semester as Assistant Principal at Piedmont Charter School’s Secondary Campus. I am active in my church, Alexis Baptist, and through the years have been active in civic organizations. Currently, along with my husband Steve Clippard, we own and operate Clippard’s Inc., an in-store LaZyboy gallery. I also serve on several committees, including the Finance Committee for the Greater Gaston Baptist Association. We have two children David (Kristen) Clippard and Heather (Preston) Johnson. We have four grand children that keep us busy, Nathan and Carleigh Clippard and Liam and Evan Johnson.
