Head of School – Sherry Reynolds

Mrs. Sherry Reynolds is a lifelong educator who believes all children can learn when given the opportunity. With thirty years experience serving as teacher and administrator in Gaston County Schools as well as training in Effective Schools Research and Best Practices, Sherry successfully founded SNR Educational Consulting. As an independent consultant, she has led schools and districts in a school improvement process using data-based and data-driven instruction resulting in effectiveness measured in terms of quality and equity.
Sherry’s professional accomplishments and recognitions include: Presenting at the Council of Chief State School Officers Conference and at the Council of Chief State School Officers Large-Scale Assessment Conference, receiving the NCASCD Lighthouse Award, recognized as 2002-2003 Gaston County Principal of the Year, recognized as 2003 North Carolina Southwest Region Principal of the Year, earned School of Excellence, Most Improved, and “No Child Left Behind” Blue Ribbon Award in 2003, developed a Teacher Observation and Performance Software program, published article: “Application, Attitude: Doing Whatever It Takes to Create Success”- featured in the Carolina Journal of The John Locke Foundation, and published book: Classrooms That Work.
Sherry has enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to lead the newly founded Community Public Charter School. Leading by example and working collaboratively with the founding Board of Directors, she is dedicated to providing a high quality academic program promoting excellence in education for “all” children at Community Public Charter School.

With a focus on American Values, Community Public Charter School engages students in inquiry-based learning in order to provide them with the skills
necessary to ensure their educational, civic, and economic success in life.

CPCS believes that a strong nation lies in the strength of the education instilled in its children. Through a rigorous academic program with the Core Knowledge Sequence and a values-based character education
program with Core Virtues, Community Public Charter School will care for the hearts and minds of students, providing them with the content knowledge, sense of civic duty, and personal pride to become the leaders that our great nation will require to ensure our standing as a world leader.
